Every value published on this site comes from a test report or from a measurement on site. Here is what each certification measures, and how to obtain the documents.
Four figures, four standards.
Solar reflectance
Share of solar radiation reflected, measured according to ASTM E903-12. A dark membrane reflects 10 to 20 %.
Thermal emissivity
Ability to release absorbed heat as infrared, ASTM C1371-15. High emissivity keeps the roof from storing heat into the evening.
Solar Reflectance Index
ASTM E1980, new state; 119 after 4,000 hours of accelerated QUV ageing. Standard white scores 100.
External fire performance
CSTB report RA23-0010. The class required for most French public and industrial buildings.
Water-based, low VOC, applied without solvent.
The three products of the system are water-based acrylic and PVDF formulations, with a VOC content of 27 to 33 g/L (well below the 140 g/L ceiling of their category). No solvent on site, no odour issue for occupied buildings, cleaning with water.
The reflective base is elastic (elongation over 300 %) and waterproof: it follows the movements of the membrane instead of cracking with it.

About the certifications
Who carried out the tests?
The optical and thermal properties (reflectance, emissivity, SRI, accelerated ageing) were measured by an independent laboratory according to the ASTM standards, and the external fire performance by the CSTB (report RA23-0010). The reports are attached to every proposal.
What does “SRI retained after 4,000 h QUV” mean?
The QUV test exposes samples to cycles of UV radiation and condensation that simulate years of outdoor exposure. After 4,000 hours, the SRI of PrimaTherm® measured 119 against 120 when new: the reflectance does not collapse with ageing, which is precisely what the French incentive scheme requires (SRI above 90 aged).
What does Broof(t3) mean?
It is the European classification of roofs exposed to an external fire, tested according to the third method (t3) of standard CEN/TS 1187, which combines burning brands, wind and radiant heat. Broof(t3) is the class required by French regulation for most establishments open to the public and industrial sites.
What is the manufacturer responsible for, and what is Hélios responsible for?
Primacoating, the manufacturer, is responsible for the product and its certified properties. Hélios is responsible for the application: substrate diagnosis, protocol, thicknesses, checks, reception measurements and the ten-year insurance covering the works.
